Just because Covid-19 is still very much present in the world does not mean Summer has to be spent completely indoors. There are plenty of places across Georgia alone that allow for a perfect road trip and fun day without being near a ton of people. So put on your bathing suit, pack your bags, and hit the road with some friends to these five hot spots.

School Bus Graveyard - Alto, Ga

According to the website, the Graveyard is where "buses go to die and reborn as whimsical works of art." Set in North-Eastern Georgia the Graveyard came to be almost by accident when the owner began using the buses as a wall to deter thieves from his scrapyard. It worked, but also began attracting a different type of crowd as both artists and those looking for a retro insta shot. The designs change periodically so this atypical art show can be a repeated visit.

The Iron Horse - Watkinsville, Ga

Perfect for a picnic or watching the sunset with friends, The Iron Horse is on a farm off of Highway 15 outside of Watkinsville. It is a favorite of UGA students and pretty much a right of passage for them. You can park in the designated area beside the road and walk through the open field up to the 12-foot tall sculpture. Braver visitors can even climb the noble steed for a cavalry shot.

Cloudland State Park - Rising Fawn, Ga

In the very top-left corner of Georgia lies Rising Fawn, Georgia and its beautiful State Park. Plenty of trails, waterfalls, and picnic areas to enjoy. Parking is only five dollars and is plenty worth it for all the sights and activities available. Just make sure to call ahead for hours and any possible restrictions.

Providence Canyon - Lumpkin, Ga

Providence Canyon is well known for its natural fiery colors and rare floral life. Created from poor farming techniques and massive erosion, Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon" has multiple trails for hikers of all levels of expertise. Just be careful to stay on path or else risk facing the effects of erosion first hand with unstable cliff edges.

Lula Lake Land Trust - Walker County, Ga

For those who truly love the outdoors, Lula Lake is the perfect experience. Open to the public the first and last weekends of each month in the summer, visitation is fairly limited but it is quite worth it considering the natural beauty and fun times it has to offer. Reservations are necessary and made online at their website which also has plenty of information for planning a successful trip. But be ready: the easiest hike to the lake is 3.2 miles round trip--not exactly for the faint of heart.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.
