I was hesitant to even watch Suicide Squad, but two of my friends wanted to go see it. Given I was sort of curious of how it turned out because everyone was giving mixed emotions about it after they had seen it, I figured why not?

I should have trusted my gut instinct. I never really wanted to go see it because after I seen Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight, I had already fell in love with Heath Ledger as his Joker. It was then that I swore to myself that never again will I go watch another movie with another person portraying the Joker.

What I don't get is, how months and months before the release of Suicide Squad, the press and everyone were saying how Jared Leto is going to be the most amazing joker out of them all. But my one main question is, WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE JOKER?! Because he literally got not even a half hour of screen time. I understand he was needed at the beginning of the movie to explain how he turned Harley into what she is, but was there a point to the rest? All he did in the rest of the movie was try to break her free and every time he failed (minus the last time because the movie had ended).

Other than the flaw of the Joker being in the movie, I thought that Suicide Squad had a decent plot. It was sort of cliché of how a man, (Colonel Rick Flag) wanted to save a woman, (June Moone) from evil (the Enchantress). And there were some funny moments as well. For instance, Killer Croc's statement to the gang "I like her," meaning Amanda Waller and her way commandment. Or of course the many hilarious and witty remarks of Harley Quinn.

Personally, one thing I really enjoyed while watching Suicide Squad was the scene Deadshot tried so hard to get Amanda Waller to allow him to reunite with his daughter. That's all he wanted out of it and after he finished their mission that he was assigned, he got his wish. I also enjoyed when even after Deadshot found Rick Flag's secret mission binder and went to him to confront him about it, at first, he wanted nothing to do with it. But when he found out the real reason, he jumped right back in and finished what he started.

In conclusion, not all movies can be a straight 5. In my opinion this movie was a flop. I would give Suicide Squad a 2.5 out of a 5.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
