The 7 Styles Seen On A College Campus

College campuses are comprised of so many different types of fashion icons!

As you walk to your classes and around campus, I challenge you to get off your phone for a minute and look at the people around you. I guarantee you that you will find every single one of these styles being rocked by your fellow students. You find people wearing just about anything, but there are some definitive patterns as well!

1. The fashionista.

These are the people who walk around campus wearing the most expensive brands they can find. They rock what everyone else wishes they had the budget to afford. Never expect to see these people in sweatpants and always expect them to look put together. Even if they are off two hours of sleep, they will slap some sunglasses on and dress to impress.

2. The Frat Bros.

A Polo or Greek affiliated t-shirt and some Sperry's or converse and you have completed the frat bro look. Let's be real, most college guys dress the same, whether they are affiliated with a Greek organization or not. However it is the backwards snapback and expensive sunglasses that really complete the look. While made fun of for their look, they still look presentable to class (most of the time).

3. The Sorority Squad.

I mean if I had that many free shirts given to me by my sorority, I would wear them just about every day too! These girls are obvious to spot because most are representing their sorority on their shirt and will be seen walking on campus with other sisters who are doing the same. I will say that they have so many different shirts and all of the designs are so cute! They practically provide a new wardrobe for their sisters!

4. The alternative one.

These are the people who do not go along with mainstream styles and wears things before they even become popular. Their style can range from band tees and combat boots to virtually any unique attire that is just the right amount of different. They set trends without even realizing it.

5. Just rolled out of bed.

I think this style applies to every student from time to time. These are the people who clearly would rather be anywhere than on the way to class at the moment. They simply did the bare minimum: brush their teeth and sometimes change their clothes and brush their hair. They are the definition of "I woke up like this" and it is quite obvious who those people are.

6. Professional szn!

Another style that can apply to any student from one time to another, professional days! Students in this style typically have a presentation in class or interview/meeting to attend. They stick out on campus in the best way because they look the most put together. They look like they are on a mission for success and the attire is definitely a power move!

7. The hippie.

These people look the most care-free on campus. They're working the earthy prints and comfy clothes. Dressing like this is something I think everyone wishes they could rock. They do not care what anyone thinks and they have full confidence wearing what they do and no going to lie it works for them!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
