Leaving the country is something that has always intrigued me. I have always wanted to do mission work with my church or just go explore the rest of the world. As my sophomore year is coming to a close, I am finally getting that opportunity with UWG. I, along with other students from the Education Department, am headed to Belize for 8 days to teach children. I have never left the country and have no idea what to expect. My friends tell me that the cruises they have been on our the family trips they have taken overseas were a blast, and I bet they were, but they didn't stay in bunk beds on a wildlife sanctuary like I will be doing. I'm not saying I do not want to spend 8 days where I get to walk around "camp" and come in contact with monkeys and iguanas, because I definitely am excited about that! But the different culture, and food, are what I am most anxious about! Wish me luck, and I'll tell of my experience when I get back.
