1. Record lectures
Ask your professors permission first. Sit close to the front to pick up everything they say quicker. You might miss something while drawing a table or zoning out for a second and it's always great to know you have a second pair of ears.
2. ALWAYS. ALWAYS take notes and then revise
Taking notes is great but revising them can help you to better remember everything you wrote down.
3. Use online sites
If you can't afford the fancy sites that cost a monthly fee there is usually free tutoring on your campus. If not, then there are is still Khan Academy and YouTube that both hold free and helpful videos. Quizzlet is also a very helpful website and app to help you study in different fun ways.
4. Take advantage of everything your university has to offer
Back to the tutoring, there is also textbooks, computers, and quiet spaces to study.
5. Study groups
They say a good way to learn new material is to teach it. Form a group with friends or classmates. It is also a great way to learn new study skills from others too.
6. Workout
I know you heard this before but it really does help to keep you motivated. Use it was a way to better yourself. For each question you get wrong you have to do a certain amount of situps or listen to the lectures while you learn.
7. Stay organized
If you have your math notes in the same folder as your English ones then it will take a while to find them before you study. It is a distraction and can be used as a way to procrastinate.
8. List and schedule items
It helps you stay on task when something needs to be done and check off what you have accomplished and might still need to complete.
9. Music
Instead of using white noise or leaving the television on, use music that has lyrics you can't understand like a foreign song. You can also use instrumental music. (The "Harry Potter" soundtrack is my go-to)
10. Eat
Ready yourself before you study so the only excuse you have to get up is to use the bathroom. Don't allow yourself to believe in an "I'll do it tomorrow" phrase.
