Okay, so finals are coming. Time to freak out, eh? This is the time in your semester where the pile of notes and books suddenly appear on your study table, you start doing some maths to figure out what scores you will need to acquire to get an A or a B. If I don’t get a 95 on my final, my GPA will go down! So will the chances of getting a good job! Oh my god I am so screwed! These thoughts customarily enter into students’ brains.
Well no bragging, but I am a straight-A student. I used to get freaked out every time a final exam approaches. But over the past few years, I have learned how to master the key strategies. You need to implement these tips into your study routine for final exams:
1. Learn the subject outside in a nice weather
Nothing is more enlightening than the beauty of nature. I know it sounds weird but my mind grasps any theory with ease when I read the book sitting in the shadow of the tree just behind my house. With the sound of leaves floating in the air and birds chirping nearby, it really is pleasant to study in nature. Trust me, guys! It really works!
2. Take a study break every 20 minutes
Nothing is more infuriating than having to read for an exam for three or four hours straight. Here is what I do. I just take a few minutes break for every twenty minutes I study. I drink a glass of water or I go outside stretch my arms or play a song on my keyboard. It helps your mind to relax and saves your energy.
3. Eat some chocolate
Well, another weird thing you will see on the internet today! Studies have shown that chocolates improve brain function, pacify your body and makes studying fun. I found it weird too at first. But believe me, it really does work! (But hey watch your sugar levels too!)
4. Roam around when you are memorizing
It is a common strategy topper in my country. If you have to memorize certain formulas in your math class or certain codes/sections of some laws in your law class, just do it by roaming around your study room or inside your house. Just pretend you are a teacher and you have to explain the material to your students.
Walk around when you are memorizing and simultaneously explain it out loud to your students. This way, you will keep stuff in your memory for a long period of time.
5. Re-read at the end of the day
Lastly, just go through your notes or the chapters you studied once at the end of the day when you are done with reading you are ready for your nap time. This way, you feel more confident about the things you have studied.
There you go, guys! No matter how bizarre my strategies might sound in the first place, they will actually pay off and will be reflected on your final grades! All the best. Have a nice summer ahead!
