Tips to Help Study for Online Tests

In This Article:

Online school is hard and time-consuming. I miss being able to study with friends and asking teachers questions. The new online school life style has changed my study routine up. If you need to change your study routine, these tips could guide you in to reaching your full potential at school.

Make a list of all the concepts on the test

Make sure to include all possible topics you could be tested on. Highlight the concepts you are struggling in, so you can review them more extensively compared to other concepts.

Set 45 minute Focus Time

I study in 45 minute sets. I study for 45 minutes and follow with a 5 minute break. After my break, I review the concepts I learned in the 45 minute break or do practice problems for about 20 minutes. I begin my next 45 minute set and continue until with the sets until I am contempt.

Drink Water

Drink water. It allows you to focus and keep yourself hydrated. Drinking water makes you more attentive and fresh. Keep drinking water.

Watch videos

I watch videos and take notes on concepts I struggle on. It is easier to watch videos to learn a concept than reading an article. Watching the concept allows me to grasp it easier.

Change positions

I always change positions to keep my attention. Sitting in one spot can get your body restless. I change positions every 45 minute period.

Dance or Stretch breaks

Sitting in one spot can cause you to become fidgety. When you feel extremely tired and need a pick me up, play your favorite up beat song and dance to it. Dancing increases your endorphins making you feel happier. You can also stretch if your muscles are becoming sore!

Make your own notes

I know it is time consuming, but this is my most important tip. After reviewing all the concepts, make a one or two page document filled with important notes or formulas that you have to remember. You can review this one page document before you take your test to refresh all the knowledge.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
