With the workload ever growing, there is a need for places to crack down on reading, do problem sets and study for your upcoming test. Here are some of the best places to study on BU's campus and in the city of Boston besides Mugar.
1. StuVi 2
StuVi 2 is the most coveted dorm on campus because of its amazing views of the Charles River and downtown Boston. If you aren't lucky enough to live in StuVi 2, but want to soak in the views of the city then the 26th floor of StuVi 2 is the perfect place to study.
2. Pavement Coffeehouse
Pavement Coffeehouse, which is located on BU's campus across the street from Marsh Plaza is the perfect place to study if you don't mind a little noise and want to be around other people. The plus about heading over to Pavement to study is the array of different sandwiches, bagels, salads, coffees and teas which will definitely force you to continue to work.
3. Esplanade
If you like to study outside, then the Esplanade is the perfect place to go. The Esplanade is a pathway along the Charles River with multiple benches and docks where you can plop down and read. Soak up the last few days of warmth reading in the sun before the dreaded winter comes.
4. BU Beach
Like the Esplanade, the BU Beach is the perfect spot on campus, located behind Marsh Plaza, to study outside. The BU Beach is not a beach, but is named the "beach" because if you put your ear to the grass then the cars driving along Storrow Drive sound like waves.
5. Boston Public Library
If you are sick and tired of all the study spots available on campus, then head into Boston and go to the Boston Public Library. The BPL is not only a great place to spend hours, but the architecture is gorgeous.
6. Boston Common
The Boston Common is one of the most iconic places in Boston. Most would not think about heading over to the common to study, but if you don't mind studying outdoors then grab a blanket and some friends and make the Boston Common a place to study.
7. Thinking Cup
Located on Newbury Street, Thinking Cup is a vibrant coffeeshop where you can spend hours mindlessly working. The only problem with Thinking Cup is that there is no Wi-Fi so if you need to do something on your computer make sure to head elsewhere, but if you need to read a book or write a paper this is a great study option.
8. GSU
The GSU is where you can find a multitude of BU students studying in between classes and grabbing a quick lunch. Be aware that if you go to the GSU to study, you will most likely be interupted by friends as the GSU is a hub for students.
9. Starbucks in Questrom
If you want to find out where most Questrom students study, the Starbucks located on the second floor of Questrom is where you can find them. You will find many students collaborating with one another on projects or asking each other questions about the last nights homework.
10. Study rooms in BU dorms
If you don't want to leave the vicinity of your dorm, but you want to be with friends, grab them and head to the study rooms available in the larger dorms. There are always students taking advantage of the study rooms whether it is to work on group projects or study for an upcoming test.
11. Your room
When you want to focus on your own work and do not want to be disturbed, the best option is to hunker down in your own room. Although it may not be as fun, it is important to know when you need to focus on your work.
