My first week out of my five months living Copenhagen has been a blur, but I wanted to focus on my favorite site so far... Frederiksborg Castle!
There are no shortage of striking castles and manicured royal gardens here; Denmark is home to the oldest monarchy in the world. However, out of the few castles I've had the privilege to tour so far - this slot (or castle in English) was especially magnificent! The castle was built in the beginning of the 17th century by King Christian IV. It was built with all of the ornate details of the Renaissance era and the castle has also been home to The Museum of National History since 1878.
