Study Abroad Bucket List

If you spend your whole semester in the library -- you’re doing abroad wrong

I’ve always been told that a semester abroad is life-changing, that it will be the best semester of your whole college career. After having experienced this myself, I completely agree. I think studying abroad is one of those things in life you can never fully understand, or even appreciate, until you’ve experienced it yourself. It was by far the most fun, relaxing, and personally rewarding semester of my college career.

When you wake up in a foreign place, every day is an adventure waiting to happen. You literally have the world at your finger tips (not to mention traveling around Europe is ridiculously cheap) so, while you may have fallen in love with the city you’re currently living in -- and I truly hope you have -- going out and exploring other parts of the world is highly encouraged.

Before you board that plane home, make sure you check these 20 European adventures off your study abroad bucket list.

1. Throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain in Rome.

You know you've always wanted to embrace your inner Lizzie McGuire.

2. Drink a stein at Oktoberfest in Munich.

Because where else will you ever find yourself surrounded by thousands of happy people with huge pretzels and beer?

3. Drink a glass of champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Way up I feel #blessed (and a little tipsy).

4. Eat lunch at Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria in Barcelona.

If you don’t know how to pronounce it, that probably means it's delicious.

5. Visit Dalmatia, Croatia, home to Krka National Park’s world famous waterfalls.

Definitely not your typical spa day. Better.

6. Enjoy a boat tour through the canals of Amsterdam.

Boat tours are way better than walking tours.

7. Relax on the beautiful waters of Capri in the Amalfi Coast .

Pack some lunch and don’t come back till the sun goes down!

8. Experience a birdseye view of Florence from the top of the Duomo.

The climb is long and claustrophobic, but the view is breathtaking.

9. Take a walk along the Berlin Wall in Berlin.

It’s a huge part of history and it’s free!

10. Hike along the coast of Cinque Terre.

You may feel like you’re going to die. Finish the hike!! It’s so worth it!

11. Skydive in Interlaken.

What’s cooler than skydiving? Skydiving in Interlaken.

12. Have a gondola driver serenade you out on the waters of Venice.

Request Sebastian. Great singer. Great guy.

13. Watch the most astonishing sunset over Santorin's blue-domed houses.

It’s the closest thing you’ll ever get to being in the sisterhood of the traveling pants.

14. Take a ride on Europe’s tallest Ferris wheel in London.

For 20 euro experience one of the best views of London!

15. Get blown away by the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland.

You'll, literally, be blown away.

16. Eat a traditional Sicilian cannoli in Sicily.

For breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

17. Visit Prague’s famous Christmas markets.

Cakes, pastries, and hot mulled wine.

18. Enjoy a nice cold Guinness from the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

It might just the coolest museum you'll ever go to.

I promise they won't disappoint!

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
