First of all, you need to realize that everything is going to be okay. Life has a way of working itself out, and sometimes it’s in ways that we can’t even comprehend. The transition from high school to college is quick, and it comes with a variety of huge decisions that need to be made. As if choosing a University that’s right for you isn’t hard enough, everyone immediately starts asking what your major is.

Maybe you have no idea what you want to do with your life. Maybe you know which field, but aren’t sure where your perfect fit is. Maybe your wrestling between two majors that aren’t even remotely close to each other. Maybe you aren’t sure if college is for you. Maybe you have a dream that your family doesn’t support. No matter what the problem is, it’s going to be okay.

My advice to everyone that is struggling to find their place, just like I am, is to put yourself out there as much as possible. Take the introduction courses that interest you, tour the trade school that you’ve been considering, talk to educators far and wide. If you’re at a University, start knocking out the courses that are required for graduation, but take courses that spark your interest too. We’re young, and we haven’t been exposed to everything that life has to offer, so it makes sense that we’re unsure of what we want out of life.

I have no idea what my ideal job is, and I’m not even sure what career field that job is in. All I know is that I’ve been working my ass off for years, and I’m going to continue to do so, and someday I will figure it out. I know that no matter what, I’m going to be successful at what I do. I’m going to find a career path that I can excel in, but that I also enjoy. I’m going to find the one thing that challenges me, and that pushes me to be the best version of myself. I’m going to find a job that I don’t have to drag myself out of bed to get to. I’m going to put myself and finding my dream career over everything else, and that’s okay at this age. This is the age to be selfish. Try new things, learn about topics you’ve never heard of before, but do all of these things for you. To become a better person, and to find yourself.

Wherever life takes you, be gracious and wear a smile. Right now, it’s stressful to be unsure of what’s next. It’s scary to not know what we want, and if you’re like me, sometimes we fear that we’ll never find our place. But we will find our place, even if it takes longer than expected. Someday you’ll figure it out. Maybe it’ll just hit you while you’re walking down the street. Maybe you’ll wake up one day and you’ll know, and you’ll be ready to take life head on. There will be that ground breaking moment where you figure it out, so wait for it. Don’t be afraid of the unknown because the unknown is just the beginning for people like us.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
