10 Reasons Every College Student Needs An Amazon Prime Account

In This Article:

Amazon has become a part of life especially for college students across the nation. I use it almost every single week to buy at least something, and that is not an exaggeration. For many students just starting college, they tend to still be attached to their parent's account.

I am here to offer you reasons why you should invest in your own account if you do not have one. If you are thinking of getting rid of your account, I will give you some reasons why you should keep it. At the end of the day, I just really support Amazon and its mission. I hope you appreciate the company just as much as I do.

1. Amazon Prime is free for the first six months if you're a student!

That is the perfect way to test something out when you know it will not charge you any money. Take advantage of that deal because free money is the best kind of money.

2. You can rent or buy all your school books for a cheaper price.

Going to Amazon sellers is almost always cheaper than buying the books from your school's store. I recommend searching on Amazon before making any final purchases because you could potentially save yourself a lot of money.

3. Your parents will not be able to provide for you forever.

Giphy

Sometimes it is time to just grow up and become an adult finally. Part of that process is finally becoming in control of your own money. Take those baby steps by opening your own Prime account.

4. People can send you stuff without you having to pick it up from home.

If a generous family member is buying you something, they can have it delivered directly to your address through your account.

5. They often give out free samples at events.

If you have a physical Amazon location at your campus, you will learn this quickly. They often have tons of free samples to give away such as Redbulls, car fresheners, and tons of other things. Take advantage while you can especially if you are a broke college student.

6. Where else would your paycheck go?

I am only being slightly sarcastic here because we all know college students especially struggle financially. Amazon will be a good use of your money because there will always be something more that you want to buy.

7. Get that free two-day delivery deal.

Giphy

Amazon Prime has a fairly quick turnaround rate for delivering packages. If you order something one day, chances are it will be there in just a couple days. This quick speed is ideal especially if you want your package right away. I know I am never patient for other kinds of deliveries.

8. If you have no car, how else are you going to shop?

Giphy

Many college students are dependent on other friends to drive them places especially if they do not have cars or do not want to pay a parking fee. Amazon allows packages to be delivered right to you without having to walk that far. With power like that, shopping has never been easier.

9. It is easy to find exactly what you are looking for.

Giphy

You can spend hours searching around on Amazon trying to find the right product for you. I like to read all the reviews and compare all the prices before I buy anything. Even if you have no idea what you want in your mind, searching around can help you narrow it down. You will always get whatever it is you think you need.

10. If you do not like something, it is easy to send right back.

Giphy

Amazon Prime has good customer service that will allow you to return any products you are not completely satisfied with. This means that you can guarantee your money back if something is not what you wanted.

If you do not have Amazon Prime, I hope you have learned valuable reasons as to why it would be a good investment. If you do have Amazon Prime already, I hope you continue to shop to your heart's desire.

No matter what your case may be, I hope you find the best place for your money to be spent. For me, that is 100000% Amazon.

Happy shopping!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
