Being a successful student is hard enough with maintaining grades and a social life, all while surviving off of ramen. If you really don't want to sleep, you may be an athlete, as well. When your season is in full swing, you can be finding yourself at practice twice a day, plus if you really want to succeed, weight training may also be necessary. Finding the motivation to keep going without a breakdown can be hard at times, but there are a couple things that you'll learn right away that can help get you through your season.

1. Three Plates Of Food Is Normal

After practice, there are no rules; eat what you can and as much as you can until you're finally full again. Everyone else is nibbling on salads terrified of gaining weight, meanwhile you just finished off pasta, chicken, and are about to go up for thirds.

2. Water And Protein Bars. Everywhere.

Three main meals are important, but so is eating and hydrating throughout the day. With a full day of classes, half the weight of your backpack is really food and water.

3. Makeup Becomes A Thing Of The Past

Unless you truly love it, chances are you really won't have the desire to sit in front of a mirror for an hour when you have practice again in six hours.

4. Make Sure To Take The Time Out Of Your Day To Take Care Of Yourself

It's easy to get rundown when you have practices, classes, homework, and possibly even a job. Taking 20 minutes to do a face mask, take a long shower, or even just stop what you're doing and watch an episode of Friends on Netflix is vital to maintaining your sanity.

5. Sleep When You Can, Where You Can

This one doesn't need much explaining. Sleep is important, find time to get some, even if it's a ten minute nap between classes.

6. The Time You Have With Friends Outside Of The Team Is Extremely Valuable

Let's face it, you don't really have a lot of free time, but when you do, there are no other people you'd rather spend it with.

7. Your Team Will Get Really Close, Really Fast

There's a dozen other people that are going through the same struggles as you are. Between practices, bus rides, and long meets, you find yourself spending more time with them than anyone else, and you wouldn't have it any other way.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
