Stuck in Boring Conversation? Here's 25 Questions to Ask During Recruitment

Recruitment is the best and worst thing that will ever happen to you. As you meet over a thousand new girls, you will be excited to find your newest rush crush, best friend, and little/grand little/great grand little. Yet recruitment is also full of the same conversations, same answers, and little excitement. Whether you are in a rut or are done asking about their hometown and major, here are some interesting/edgy questions that will interest both you and the potential recruit:

1. What is your favorite coffee drink? Do you prefer Starbucks or an independent coffee shop?

2. If you were best friends with a One Tree Hill/Desperate Housewives/Gilmore Girls character, who would it be and why?

3. Tell me about your best friend, and why you look up to her.

4. What story does your family always tell about you?

5. What’s one of your favorite memories from summer time/first semester?

6. Tell me about your family dynamic.

Here you can learn about their siblings, how she grew up, and what family means to her.

7. What is the one thing you can’t live without?

Whether it’s Netflix, coffee, or her dog, it’ll introduce a whole new topic for you two to discuss.

8. If you were famous, what would you be famous for?

9. What was the most surprising part of living in Oxford/on your own?

10. What is your dream job?

11. If you could chose any nonfiction or fiction people to be your mentor, who would it be? (Bet you’ll get tons of Lauren Conrad, Sophia Bush, and Lilly Pulitzer answers.)

12. Why are you involved in the organizations that you’re in/what organizations do you want to be apart of?

13. What are you looking forward to most when you join a sorority? Being a leader? Going to philanthropies? Being a sister?

14. If you had a theme song for your life, what would it be?

15. What is something that you can’t help but spend money on? (late night Will’s pizza, online shopping, Chipotle, Red Box movies).

16. What’s your favorite thing to do on breaks? It may be traveling, seeing old friends, or going to her favorite coffee shop/book store/boutique/yoga class.

17. What book/movie has influenced you the most, and why?

18. Is there anything you are really passionate about?

19. What is the best advice you have ever received/given?

20. What excites you about Oxford/college/being in a sorority?

21. What kind of things make you laugh? (friends, Parks and Recreation, comedy movies, animal videos.)

22. Where is your favorite place in the entire world?

23. If you/your best friend could describe you in three words, what would they be?  You’d be surprised at how stumped some girls can get on this question.

24. When you think of “home”, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?

25. When you think of your future sisters/big, what traits are most important to you?

We don't find our future sisters by knowing their major/hometown/high school activities. Try to find something that can connect you with them. And remember, you can always ask about their favorite Netflix marathon.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.

Obsessive Thoughts Keep My Brain Stuck On A Loop And Me Stuck On My Couch

Sometimes my brain just starts turning on an idea and it doesn't want to stop.

I don't know if it is related to my anxiety, perfectionism or depression. I don't know why it happens. It's frustrating, it's painful and it stops me from functioning.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.
