Dear Stubborn People

What's worse than hurting other people's feelings? Keeping everything bottled up and hurting yourself instead.

Dear Stubborn Person,

It's okay. Be stubborn. Don't settle for anything less than what you want.

Don't let people treat you like crap, upgrade yourself. Because you deserve it.

Dear Stubborn Girl,

Don't settle for the shitty boyfriend because he's cute or because your friends tell you you'll get used to 'it' (whatever the hell 'it' is).

Break free from gender stereotypes and let your inner unicorn goddess shine at all times.

Keep not putting up with flaky friends and sub-par conversations. Let that shit go.

Dear Stubborn Boy,

Don't let your girlfriend push you around because you don't wanna piss her off.

Don't let anyone take advantage of your kindness.

You're a freaking King, don't let the shine of someone else's crown throw yours off.

Dear Stubborn Parent,

Never accept advice you don't agree with, raise your kid how you want to.

Beat up other parents' shitty kids (don't actually do that, very frowned upon).

Dress your kid however you wanna, give them whatever toy you wanna, because that's your kid, not the rest of society's kid.

Dear People Who Give Stubborn People Grief,

Where is your damn backbone? I know God most likely gave you one, so there's no reason to lose it.

Don't be jealous that someone else had the courage to do something that you didn't. Deep down you have that courage too, so focus on yourself.

Don't shrink back into the masses.

There is nothing wrong with a person knowing what they want, working toward goals they have, or standing up to societal norms.

DON'T BE WEAK.

Fack.

Just a little rant-style message from me this week because I'm mad right now.

Be strong and be whoever you wanna be. Screw whoever can't deal with it. Sometimes you'll lose your temper, sometimes you'll hurt someone else's feelings, sometimes it may not seem worth it. But you wanna know what's even worse than all that? Keeping things bottled up and hurting yourself in the process of tiptoeing around everyone else. Your personal health and needs are just as important as everyone else's and no one knows more about what you need than you do.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
