I see you. I see you carrying the burden of your full course load while going to work and pulling A's. It's not easy by any means, but somehow, you're getting by. Whether it has to do with your responsibilities or maybe just life in general, it can be a struggle and intensely overwhelming. School alone has brought on more stress and frustrations than you could have ever imagined. You try and try to understand your foreign language class but it's extremely difficult. You have tried to sit and read your assigned readings without wanting to completely break down when you don't understand Biology. Your favorite subject has been your worst so far this semester and you're questioning everything about yourself and your ability to obtain your degree.
Here for the past few weeks, you've felt down and unmotivated. Recently you've been doing just enough to get by with little thought and kept telling yourself "I just have to get through this week" every week. You keep hoping for better but here lately it seems as if you're fighting Goliath and losing. School and your mental health weigh heavy on you and you keep trying to pull yourself above water when all you seem to do is drown.
But remember, "The Lord is greater than the giants you face" (1 John 4:4).
You have even begun to question relationships in your life and wonder what people really think of you and if they truly care about you the way they say they do. You've been feeling so alone lately and as if you have no one to turn to. This is the time to turn to God and to find him again. He won't be angry at you. He will welcome you with open arms saying "Welcome home my child' whilst walking by your side through every moment in your life.
Well, I'm here to tell you it will get better. You will be successful. You will graduate. You will feel better one day. What may seem as your lowest point ever is just the beginning and you will conquer this because "With God, nothing shall be impossible" (Luke 1:37). You are stronger than the giants you are stronger than your enemies and your demons because you are God's child and he does not give anyone more than what they can handle.
How do I know all of this? Because you are me, and I am you. I've been struggling and wondering if it would get better. I ask God why I'm being put through these struggles and I know He's telling me that everything will be okay and that He has a "plan for me" because he does. "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is a fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11). No matter if you believe in Him or not, no matter if you keep drowning believing He's just pushing struggle onto you, He has a plan. We don't know what our lives have in store and sometimes the best thing to do is take it day by day. So, every now and then, reward yourself for making it through, because you deserve it.
