Winter break is arguably one of the best times of the year for most college students under the sun. A month-long vacation away from studying and finals is something that almost all of us have been craving since September 1st. Don't get us wrong, we love college; but sometimes we need time away from school. With the onset of winter break brings the feeling of the holiday spirit. When it comes to gift-giving during the holiday season, it might be difficult to shop for that college student that you haven't seen in four months. Don't worry because here is a list of 16 gifts ideas that every college student wants under their tree. From concert tickets to gift cards and parkas, your child will be sure to love each gift.

1. Extra-long parka

For all those midwest and east coast college kids, winters on campus can be horrifically brutal. When it comes to battling the winter storms and windchill, a long parka is usually the key to winning the fight.

2. Target gift card

Honestly, who doesn't love Target? No one, exactly.

3. Any type of food gift card

Quality food is a rare occurrence on campus during certain times of the school year, so why not spoil your kid to a free meal at the restaurant of their choosing?

4. Beer bottle opener

You can never have enough bottle openers. Never.

5. Campus bar gift card

Whether it will be buying drinks or bar food, a gift card to a bar can go a long way.

6. Campus bar t-shirt

I would do anything to have a t-shirt from Sally's Saloon at the University of Minnesota, and I bet your kid would too (but from there own campus).

7. Money in any amount

Let's face it, the stereotypical college student is broke. Any amount of money will help them make it through next semester.

8. Beer pong party pack

How can you go wrong with the most classic of classic drinking game? That's right, you can't.

9. One week European vacation

Stressful semesters calls for a time of much-needed relaxation, so what would be more perfect than a free vacation?

10. A certificate for 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep

From loud roommates to late-night parties, everyone is craving a full night's sleep.

11. Fuzzy socks

This is just a given, so no explanation is needed.

12. Free tuition

This is another given.

13. School spirit wear

Add to your student's obsessive collection of college spirit wear because they can never have enough.

14. 12 months of apartment rent

It would be the ultimate gift.

15. Beer

Because it's beer.

16. Concert tickets

Taylor Swift, Kenney Chesney, Thomas Rhett, WeFest, and Lollapalooza are just some of the hundreds of concert events going on during summer 2018.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
