So the 4th of July is quickly approaching. There will be fireworks, carnivals, bbqs, and thousands of people flocking to the beach to celebrate. All of this sounds great right? Wrong. This is only great if you are not a local, but if you're from the Jersey Shore, or just any area that has a beach it can be torture. It seems like tourist don't understand that they aren't from the area, we enjoy your revenue, but at some point you have to go. It's hard being a local, and here are the reasons why.
1. Traffic
With everyone rushing to get to the beach there is always major traffic! Nothing is worst than waking up early to go spend a day at the beach, and the usual 10 minute drive turns into a hour!
2. Parking
There is absolutely no reason why it should take 30 minutes to find a parking spot. Driving around in countless circles in the search for the perfect spot, will drive anyone crazy.
3. Overcrowded beaches
Overcrowded beaches suck. It's so aggravating when the tourist come, and just take over everything. It's bad enough that tourist take our parking spots, but do you really have to take over the whole beach? Would you like our towels, too?
4. The lines
The boardwalk is full of fun attractions and great food, but nobody wants to spend a lifetime waiting in line!
5.The aftermath
So the weekend is finally over and all the tourist are gone. Whats left? Bottles, cups, and all other garbage. If it not your home don't leave a mess that you're not going to clean up. That's just disrespectful.
As a local of the Jersey Shore, I know that where I am from is a beautiful place, so of course tourist love to visit. All we ask is that people respect our home, because when tourist leave we are the ones that stay there, and keep our home nice enough to make you want to come back.
