So let's start off by saying the fitness lifestyle is not easy. I love working out and eating healthy and most importantly seeing results. But every couple months or so, I hit a wall. My body is done and my motivation to hit the gym and eat chicken and rice all day is gone. I’m a firm believer in listening to your body. I push my body past its limits and it has no problems kicking my butt later and keeping me out of the gym.
#1 Take a break and relax.
Your body and mind sometimes need a break. Even though you have to fight every fiber in your body to actually stay out of the gym for a bit it's for the best. When I hit the stage of exhaustion and not being motivated I take a week off to reconnect with myself.
#2 Take care of yourself.
Because the last thing you want is to be in the middle of a set and burn out because you decide to push through what your mind and body were telling you. Honestly, after a week of recharging, I feel so much better and get even more motivated than I was before.
Trust me you're not going to be fit if you have to sit out for a couple months because you broke something. And remember theirs a difference between listening to your body and being lazy.
