When your social chair walks in all excited to announce a date dash and panic immediately follows. OMG, who am I going to take? Do I have enough money to even buy the shirts? So many questions. However, finding a date for any function can truly be a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Here are some thoughts that run through my head while I'm trying to find a date.

1. Should I order two shirts or just the one

To be ambitious and order your shirt and a large for your date is the question? But what if you don’t find a date? Then you’re stuck with a large shirt, but what if you do get a date? So many questions and so little time.

2. What if he is weird

We all have those friends that are like “omg, I have the perfect guy for you,” but do they really? For all you know he could be a jerk, crazy, or just so awkward that you have no clue what to do. Whenever I take a friend of a friend this always gives me major anxiety.

3. I should just shoot my shot

This is where the debate about just asking that really cute guy across the hall, in your chem class or the random dude you always see on the bus. At this point you are feeling super ballsy because let’s be real, what’s the worst thing he is going to say no?

4. I’m just going to be alone forever

Date dashes make you feel like you will be alone forever and that to have absolutely no friends to take. I get anxiety when I try to think of possible dates and then think they probably won’t want to go with me.

5. I’m just gonna take my roommate

When it’s T-minus 24 hours till your date dash starts and you have yet to find a date. This is where you question, is it that bad if I bring my roomie? I know she’ll be fun and I don’t have to worry that much.

6. Thank the Lord

There is no better feeling than when you’ve found a date. Mission accomplished it doesn't really matter whether it's the roomie, the cute guy in your chem class or your best guy friend. At least you didn’t show up alone...Congratulations and go treat yourself!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
