10 Struggles Every Girl With Curly Hair Can Relate To

Everyone has a love-hate relationship with their hair: people who have straight hair want curly hair and people with curly hair want straight hair. Well, I'm here to tell you that having curly hair is not as awesome as it looks. I have definitely experienced every one of these issues and I'm sure you have too...well if you have curly hair

1. The day you decide to straighten your hair it will decide to rain. Even if you think you can use some magical product as soon as water hits your hair, it will curl.

.

2. Humidity will never be your friend. Don't even bother doing your hair on a day when it is 90% humidity because your hair will just turn into a giant frizz ball and it will not be pretty.

3. You will always run out of conditioner before you run out of shampoo. Some people say you should use conditioner the size of a quarter, yet we just stand there and laugh. Curly haired girls use at least 10x that amount to even get their hair somewhat manageable. You are only supposed to wash your hair a few times a week which inevitably leads to this...

4. When you are done showering you are never any less surprised from the amount of hair you just lost. And you will inevitably break multiple brushes within a year.

5. People often compliment you on your straight hair and say "omg it looks so good straight" and you're not sure if you should take that offensively or not...are you saying you don't like my natural hair? Should I cave in and straighten my hair all the time? Do people like me better when I am not my natural self? We've all had these thoughts.

but let's be honest...Beyonce looks great with both styles

6. The amount of money you spend on products is insane but definitely worth it. If you want a good product for your hair you are without a doubt going to spend 3x more than your friends with straight hair but it will all be worth it when your hair looks bangin. Devacurl is by far my favorite and definitely worth the price.

7. When you think it is a good idea to go to sleep with wet hair and you wake up with a huge frizz ball of hair. It is a real struggle of wanting to wear your hair down in the morning but not wanting to wake up early to shower.

8. When you want to go out in public but your hair is still sobbing wet after shower three hours ago. Girls with curly hair are very used to showing up to public places with wet hair. It's not like I had a choice, I just didn't have five hours to wait around for my hair to dry. So please don't question me when I show up to an event with wet hair, just deal with it.

9. For some reason, guys enjoy running their hands through a girls hair and most girls enjoy it...well not when that girl has curly hair. It will inevitably lead to more knots and their hands getting stuck in your hair which is not a pretty site. And plus, we hate when people touch our hair, it just leads to more frizz and curly haired girls hate frizz.

10. But at the end of the day, we love our hair. Curly-haired girls can make their hair look naturally straight but it is impossible for straight haired girls to make their hair look naturally curly. Once you find the perfect style, the perfect product and the perfect salon you will learn to love your hair.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
