Some of us unlucky ones were blessed with the charming ability of not being able to see clearly. Blame it on genetics, not eating enough carrots, or reading in the dark; it doesn't really matter. And you either, 1. ignore the problem and act like you don't need glasses, 2. wear glasses, or 3. wear contacts. I chose the third option, as glasses were such a hassle and constantly dirty and smudged (!!!!). Contacts are not without their struggles, though. So for all of my fellow contact wearers out there, here's a list of struggles we deal with on a daily basis:
1. The dirty look you get when you have to touch your eye in public
2. When you want new contacts but it's only been a few days
3. When you rub your eyes too hard and your contact moves in your eye and you experience the worst pain in the world
4. When you take a nap with your contacts in and wake up with eyes as dry as a desert
5. When you take your contacts out but don't know where your glasses are
6. When you run out of contacts and don't have an order in for more
7. Yet another doctor you have to worry about
8. Trying to remember which prescription is for which eye when putting in new ones
9. Always having to worry about having your contact case and solution
10. When you put your contacts in and there's dirt on them and all you can think about is what it will be like to be blind
But despite everything, having contacts is better than having to worry about glasses all the time (or endangering everyone you drive with because you *don't need* glasses). So a big thanks to the little suction cup thingies that sit on my eyes and allow me to see! Go contacts!
