I don’t know about you, but I am the one in the friend group that constantly has to be eating or snacking. Most of the time I don’t even have to be hungry to eat. I have been stranded places where I can’t eat and it is basically the worst possible scenario that one could experience (I may be a little dramatic). Here is a quick glimpse into what constantly being hungry looks like.
Hanger is real.
For those of you who haven’t heard of hanger, here’s a quick definition...
Hanger: a combination of hunger and anger. The result of waiting so long to eat that it affects your mood and decision making.
I face hanger at least once a week, and it isn't pretty. My friends can swear for me that when I get hangry, I better get food soon… and fast. All of the nice that I have disappears in a moment. Last year I went on spring break to Florida I and had a strange experience. With the mix of the sun and heat, I would get even hungrier than usually throughout the day which I didn't even know was possible. At one point I was so desperate for food that I ate my friend’s loaf of bread… and as you can guess; there are pictures to prove that this actually happened. This wasn’t my proudest moment, but in the end, a loaf of bread was better than no food.
The Midnight Snack (a.k.a. the 4th meal).
Every night like clockwork when it hits around 11:30 or 12 a.m., I start to get hungry. Yes, I know what you are all thinking it is very inconvenient. Strange looks are also a common occurrence while eating my fourth meal, but that is just something you have to get used to when you get hangry. I will eat just about anything, from chips to leftovers in the fridge. The midnight snack has no limitations.
Having to prepare for any situation.
Going on a trip to the city? Better bring a snack. Going to the mall? Again, better have a snack. It’s not fun being stranded somewhere that doesn’t supply food. That is why constantly having snacks comes in handy. Plus it’s a great way to make friends, because once again you are the girl that always has food with you (being sarcastic of course).
If you are one of those people that said that all of these things have happened to you too, you are not alone.
