Everyone knows that packing for a weekend trip or a vacation can sometimes be a little taxing. But packing your entire life away for college? That's a completely different ballgame. You have to do and think of everything, from sorting your clothes by season, to printing out the pictures you want to be sure to hang up, to choosing which coffee mugs you absolutely have to have. If there aren't tears and/or severe stress involved, you're probably not doing it right. Here are just a few memes and gifs that sum up elements of the college packing process:

1. Procrastination.

If you're anything like me, you waited until the very last minute to start trying to organize and pack away your life. You do your best work under the pressure of a little time crunch, right?

2. Shock/Horror.

When you finally get all of the stuff that you're planning to take to college in one room and can't help but cringe at the sheer size of it all.

3. Anger.

You get fed up that it's taken you over an hour to neatly fold and pack away only a quarter of your closet, so you resort to stuffing as much of it as you can into the nearest bag -- definitely the most effective method.

4. Panic.

All you can see all over your house is container after container of your stuff, stacked up, about to fall over and lining the walls. How in the world is this all going to fit in one car?

5. Forced Optimism.

Just one more shirt...and one more...and one more. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.

6. That sinking feeling.

No matter how many packing lists and notes you continuously made for yourself, you get to school and realize that you still managed to forget something important, like your retainer. But it's okay, because you did remember to bring spare batteries and light bulbs and push pins, so you're basically all set.
