Being tall is a gift from the holy heavens above but there are some serious struggles when it comes to the logistics of tallness. There is a certain amount of patience and time that goes into being tall whether it be time while shopping or patience with the people standing behind you at a concert. Here's to being a tall woman in a tiny world:
1. Pants never fit right
Going shopping is super fun until you get to the pant section and start trying them on... yeah, I'll just stick to leggings.
2. Or finding the perfect pair of pants and then finding out whoever did laundry put them in the dryer
One day your pants fit perfectly and the next day they turned into the capri leggings your mom bought you when you were in middle school...
3. Everyone tells you how tall you are
Wow! Thank you for this vital piece of information that I never knew in my 20 years of existence on this planet. Thank you really, you've enlightened me!
4. Or how your body is 90 percent leg and 10 percent everything else
Whaaaaat? Those are the legs on my body that you're commenting on? I had no idea that they were that long.
5. Watching concerts from the back of the room
Even if you were the first one at the concert or event everyone still complains and asks you to go to the back!
6. Regular length skirts become miniskirts
It's not my fault that I have long legs and the clothing industry only caters to people of medium height! What am I supposed to do? Wear pants? Oh wait.. I mean my capris!
7. And you can forget about buying a maxi dress
The struggle when the dress fits perfectly everywhere except where it comes up to the middle of your calf and you look like you're trying to bring back a 50s trend.
8. You're the designated person to grab things off the top shelf
I can't handle this question, I am going to start charging for my services.
9. Going on Tinder dates and realizing the height difference
Literally, the worst thing is going on a date and realize you're Taylor Swift and your date is Daniel Radcliffe.
10. When your walking around the mall and everyone around you feels like their running a marathon
You're walking at a normal pace and everyone else behind you is five steps slower and complaining about how fast you're walking!
11. Every single person asks you what sport you played in high school
Being the most non-athletic person in high school and being one of the taller people this question always just sets a fire inside me. Just because I am tall does not mean that I am athletic, it means that I am a fierce diva who can reach the stars. Literally.
