Every Struggle Is The Chance To Earn A New Strength

It's OK not to be OK.

We all go through certain obstacles in life, and all handle them in different ways. These obstacles tear us down and turn our whole world upside down. But, they can also build us up if we allow them to.

With every struggle we face, comes the opportunity to grow stronger as an individual. We have the opportunity to learn from what has happened, and to improve ourselves. No matter how you do it, or how long it takes, you will overcome it.

During these times of trouble is when it is the most difficult to stay positive. It is so easy to let the bad in your life take control of your mood, words, actions, health, and daily routine. You naturally become narrow-minded and let your issue have a bigger impact on yourself than it should.

But, focusing on the brighter side of things is what will get you through it. Keep in mind all of the good in your life, and let that be your purpose to live. Keep your loved ones close to you, because they will be there for you through it all.

A lot of the difficulties we face are those that we can not change. But, we can improve ourselves in order to change the effect it had on us.

If you got a bad grade on an exam, you can not change it or take it again. But, you will learn to spend more time studying beforehand and to take better notes in class so that you are well prepared for the next one.

If your relationship is ending when you don't want it to, you can't change the way the other person feels, it is a two-way street. But, you can learn to be okay on your own, and become accepting of other peoples feelings.

Focus on improving yourself, instead of trying to change something that is beyond your control.

Don't ever be ashamed of not being OK. Everyone goes through these times, it is just a matter of when and how.

You are no less of a person if you are not okay. You are no more of a person if you do not face hard times. You will become the best person once you learn to overcome, because of the new strengths you have let in. It is okay not to be okay.

Hold your head high, because you will be okay. Learn from mistakes you have made, and from the difficult times that you go through. Every struggle is the chance to earn a new strength. Let the strength in.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
