Squidward Tentacles is the notorious next-door neighbor to one of the television's most beloved and iconic cartoon characters, "Spongebob Squarepants."

Children often times identify themselves with Spongebob's positivity and optimism while criticizing Squidward's pessimism and perpetual negativity. Yet as time has passed, fans of the show have ultimately come to recognize the reality of Squidward's struggle, and it isn't pretty.

In fact, most have come to realize they have evolved into the very character they once despised. If you find yourself relating to this article at all, you might just be a Squidward too.

1. Adult life isn't as thrilling as it appeared as a kid:

Hollywood has been lying to us for years.

2. Your daily routine is more monotonous than interesting:

Everything feels like a chore at this point.

3. People are always driving you crazy:

When it comes to the human race, common sense doesn't seem to be common thought.

4. You've lost all faith in humanity:

With a lack of common sense comes a lack of rationality.

5. You value peace and quiet now more than ever:

Silence really is golden.

6. Being routinely forced to associate with people you can't stand:

No thanks.

7. Finding your sanity being tested more often than not:

The madness seems never-ending.

8. Doing whatever it takes to earn a paycheck:

Social ridicule doesn't stand a chance against that kind of incentive.

9. Dreaming of swimming in money:

Goals.

10. Spending more time over-thinking than sleeping while lying in bed:

Why sleep when you can think about every little thing you have on your plate?

11. Catching up on sleep at random times throughout the day:

Free time = nap time.

12. Letting lose once in a while helps heal the soul...

Everyone's soul needs a little TLC sometimes.

13. ...whether you have one or not:

But if you truly are Squidward, you probably don't.

14. Slowly realizing life never gets easier:

They say things get better, but they don't.

15. But at least you can eat whatever you want, whenever you want:

This might be one of the sole joys of adulthood.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
