When You Struggle To Find The Resolve To Continue
Tressa Harings

I have weaknesses. Everyone does. It has been hard in the past to keep my hopes and dreams up because I thought life was getting in the way. But that wasn't true. Everything that we do each day makes up our life. Even when we feel hopeless; when things aren't going our way. Sometimes it's even the little things, like getting yourself to go to the gym or eating healthy. There were days in the past, and will be days to come, when I am just feeling down. There will be times when I would just rather lay at home feeling bad for myself and thinking about every time that I have failed. But what's the point? Often times when we are at are weakest, we find the strength to get back up and start again.

Relationships may fail, and we want to dwell on the negative for weeks after. School or work get difficult and you just want to quit. Start looking at things in life as a stepping stone. Each obstacle that you face, and get past, the closer you end up to where you need to be. I am a huge Christian, so praying helps me face difficult times. For others it might be seeing family and friends or going on a hike. Take a step back in those moments and ask yourself what you are learning from the difficult times. Don't give up. When life knocks you down, get back up, brush the dirt off and start again.

Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
