If eating healthier was one of your resolutions this year, you are not alone! There are a lot of people trying to get rid of unhealthy eating habits and it is one of the hardest things to do. It becomes a challenge to intrigue taste buds accustomed to tons of sugar and fats, to enjoy nutrient-worthy meals. It is even more of a challenge to break the sacred bond between you and the delicious taste of junk food. Nonetheless, eating healthy is worth the challenge, but it is not easy; and here are some moments and thoughts you might run into when trying to eat healthier:
For one, you determine the last time you had a good, balanced, nutritious meal.
Probably it's been a while, so you start to question whether we know anything at all about eating healthy.
You decide to start with the basics more fruit and veggies less junk food. It goes all right...
...And whether you like it or not, you keep going...
...for a week or so until you crave something more. There are advertisements of junk food everywhere and it seems like the invitations to eat out become more frequent when you are trying to develop a healthy lifestyle.
You begin to despise your meals.
You look at junk food like...
So you decide a small taste won't hurt...
And give yourself "cheat days."
Those end up looking like this.
You realize that maybe binge-eating on "cheat day" wasn't the right choice.
So you decide:
...but the breakup doesn't last long.
So, you sit and have a whole guilt-ridden reflection and decide to start again. You know there is a better way and it's going to take more commitment this time. You won't give up...
...because you know that in the end, it will be worth it!
So go out and try to be healthy, because no matter the result, you are still trying to make a difference in your eating habits, and that can be the start of accomplishing your new year's resolution.
