Life is such a complex and beautiful thing and very confusing at points. Many of us, if not all at one point or another, have taken advantage of it. We wish life was perfect just like in a fairy tale; a world where love stands for something, a world where disease doesn't take our loved ones in an instant, and a world that simply lived in harmony together. In today's world, love is a hit or miss. You think you find this perfect someone and they walk all over you and you sit late at night wondering what you did wrong, what you did to deserve this pain. As painful as it may be, there's no reason to be upset. At first you may think it's the end of the world but in reality you gain the benefit of getting up, brushing yourself off, and you eventually learn; instead of caring what others think about you or how they feel about you, you have that skill of always loving yourself. As you learn to be alone and work for you and not anyone else, it happens that someone unexpected walks into your life and shows you the true meaning of love. The benefit here is you know you would and could never hurt this person like you once were hurt. At the same time, you never let your guard down, you don't let yourself be pushed around. Family is always a priority, they should always be a go-to when you're having a problem, and the key to that is you can't be afraid to talk to them about anything. The stronger the relationship the harder they will bat for you. Many teenage kids go through things like depression and anxiety, and you shouldn't think for one second you're weaker than anyone else. Many may feel embarrassed to talk about it or will tell you they're fine. Deep down inside it's like a boulder dragging you down in water and no matter how hard you swim, you just can't get out of the water. Life works in mysterious ways, and living your life to the fullest is key. To those people who feel like they're not good enough, who think that they're alone and feel like they're in a sink hole, you are the toughest because you handle more than anyone else can. No matter how hard life may get, stand tall, put a smile on your face, and strive for your goals; show the doubters that when they think that their words hurt you, you actually use it as fuel, and you make a name for yourself. When they see that you're successful and want to join you, you laugh and show them that you've always been stronger and you'll never give up.

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
