The weather has cooled off and it's officially fall!!! Here's 10 stress relievers that are free for those broke college students who just need to take a minute to get back on your A- game.
1. Read!
Right now, I'm reading Pride and Prejudice (lame, I know). But taking a couple minute out of my day to read a chapter or two always puts me in the best mood. I always recommend Stephen King for a nice psychological thriller!
2. Take a Lap!
Whether it be around campus, or around the block, walking is a great way to clear your head. I personally like to run a mile or two to get my stress out, but sometimes that's not always people's speeds (literally).
3. Watch a Funny Movie!
My all time favorite is Ferris Bueller's Day off, but there are endless choices that will make your day a little brighter. Even if you have to do homework while watching!
4. Sing!
Whether it be in the shower, or at a coffee house, sing your face off! It gets your blood flowing and can give you a confidence boost (whether you think you're American Idol material or not).
5. Watch a Sunset.
6. Color
My dad has given me countless Adult Coloring Books (yes that's a thing). So, when you're riding the bus, or before you go to bed, color a bit! It doesn't have to be perfect, but even coloring outside the lines is so relaxing.
7. Watch Netflix
Most of the times there aren't enough hours in the day, but even if you watch one episode of Friends, start a documentary, or anything of the sort, taking that you-time is very important.
8. Eat some Ice Cream!
Uber to the Supermarket, whip some out of the fridge, buy an ice cream maker, anything! Ice Cream always picks up my mood. My all time favorite flavor is coffee with oreos, or Green Team, but that's a rarity. While homemade ice cream is a blessing, Ben and Jerry's does the trick most of the time.
9. Watch Cute Videos on Youtube
My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to watch Corgi Videos. My roommate and I always do this and could do it probably for hours. There's something about babies and Corgis that just brings a smile to my face.
Last but certainly not least:
10. Take a Nap
Someone once told me that a 26 minute nap is the perfect amount of sleep. When we're stressed, we don't always get the right amount of sleep, cat naps could help you keep going probably more than anything. There was a point in my life where I only had time to take 7-minute naps, but it still helped.
