We all have those weeks. You know the ones I'm talking about, the weeks where it's already been the longest of your life and it's only monday... yeah those.

When you get to the end of a long stressful week, the best thing you can do is participate in some relaxing self care techniques!

It's the best way to de-stress and treat yourself at the same time. Here are a couple of my personal favorite things to do.

Workout

For me personally, working out is one of the best ways to de-stress. I recently joined a local kickboxing organization, and I'm in love with it! I would definitely recommend doing some research and finding out what kind of fitness environment you enjoy being in and getting involved in something!

Cook a Healthy Meal

Sometimes when we have a tough week, we can fall off the wagon with our diets. I really like to come home and cook a delicious healthy meal for myself to kind of get myself back on track and feel better in general as well.

Clean Your Room

Cleaning always puts me in a better mood. There's something about crawling into bed with fresh sheets in a clean room with a candle burning, that is just magical.

Take a Bubble Bath

Dim the lights, light a candle, and add some bubbles. Paired with a face mask and a glass of wine, can it get any better?!

Call a Friend or Family Member

When all else fails, call mom! Or whoever your go to person is when you are feeling down. Especially if you're in school, or living away from home, sometimes a phone call with someone you love and miss can make all the difference.

Those are just a few of the things I like to do at the end of a stressful week. Always remember that it will get better and everyone has those weeks! Keep your head up and practice some self care!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
