Stress.. College Students Are Very Familiar!

Stress.

A word that everyone is familiar.

You've said the phrase, "I'm so stressed!" probably one hundred times.

The least little thing happens and that's usually the go to line.

I'm guilty.

As a college student it is almost an everyday line that is said.

So this is a blog mostly for college students...

Signing up for classes. The weeks after syllabus week. Midterms. Finals. And the list could go on for days.

It will all almost drive you insane. Or so we think!

If we were to all take the time to sit back for a minute when we are having one of those "I'm so stressed right now" moments and think about how far we have made it and how we have always made it through those stressful times it won't seem as bad to us.

Having a good support system will also help during these times.

And those cool cats that you met the second week of school? They're going through the same things you are, as far as schooling, so know that you are not alone and that you guys can use each other to get through all of the mess that school brings and can be an encouragement to each other.

But... the main thing that will help when life in general seems to be too stressful or hard is the Good Lord. He will always be there for you. He put you right where you are at this very moment for a specific reason. So when things seem stressful call on Him. Rather than having a mini pity party and rather than complaining about how rough and stressful your life may seem at that very moment, take the time to call on Him and ask for help and guidance. We always think we have it so bad but I can guarantee you that there is someone out there that has greater stresses than just their schooling.

I'm speaking to myself as well.

So keep this in mind next time you get that bad grade on that test that you studied so hard for, when you have an assignment due at 12 am and it's 11:50, when your car gets a flat tire on your drive to school.

You got this! Whether you think so or not.

Continue to smile through the "pain".

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
