One of the worst feelings in the world is weakness. Nobody wants to feel like a pansy, nobody likes to cry in front of someone else, and nobody wants to be the one who can’t handle whatever life throws at them. Personally, one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone is told that they’re weak, especially by someone who doesn’t even know them. You have absolutely no clue what people have been through, you don’t know what they can handle, and you definitely don’t have any idea of what they’re capable of. We, as humans, all have different perspectives of what “strength” is, but I think I have a pretty solid idea.
Strength can be measured in all sorts of ways. Whether you’re able to squat 500 pounds, bench press double your body weight, or deadlift a horse, your physical strength can easily be proven, but what about your mental, spiritual, and emotional strength? What about the strength that can only be seen behind closed doors? What about the strength that you’ve built up on your own that you don’t boast about? What about the strength that nobody can see just by looking at you? Often times, you see people posting gym and weight room pictures online, but you hardly ever see anyone post about their emotional strength; There’s a reason for that.
