Street Cred Style: A How To guide

Do you want to run these streets but don’t know how? Well it’s very simple, it’s all about looking like you know what you’re doing. A big part of that is your appearance - a.k.a your clothes. With these easy steps you will be running these streets by nightfall.

  1. Shoes

For the shoe you either want to stick with a punk rock look or a sportier feel. Tennis shoes are an option but aim for a more fashion forward tennis shoe instead of one made for running/training. Adidas have gotten more popular lately because they got with so many outfits. Or, try going for a lace up boot look that gives off an edgier vibe.

2. Pants

For the pants you can’t go wrong with distressed denim. No matter the color or wash, ripped jeans give the look a more casual feel while still looking like you run the show. It’s like a Yeezy ripped look but not as much money. If not ripped pants then try going for a camo pant. Yes, you can wear camo out in the street, it’s not just for hunting anymore. If all else fails go for black denim.

3. Shirt

For the shirt keep it simple. The shirt isn’t stealing the show in this outfit, rather being a supporting actor or working backstage to keep the show running. A t-shirt with a phrase or simple graphic will do the trick, or even play it safe with a solid. Anything that adds to the look without being center stage.

4. Jacket

Jackets are meant for street style. They layer the look and bring all of the pieces together. Bomber jackets are becoming more popular now. If you’re up for it, throw some patches on your jacket for more creativity.

5. Accessories

This is where you can add some icing on top of the cake! Accessories aren’t required but they spice up a look even more! Baseball hats are trending right now. Go for a hat that has a phrase or logo that you like. Suede hats are gaining more popularity as well. They add some more class to a typical baseball hat. Lastly, try throwing on some aviators because those make any outfit look badass.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
