An industry that Netflix once largely had to itself is now crowded with competition. New services with established names are making way on their ability to crack into this industry. Online streaming has become a big industry in recent years, with services such as Netflix, Hulu, NBC, HBO and more recently, Disney+ putting more than $5 billion in the streaming technology industry.
In early November Disney Plus launched, promising consumers streaming access to Disney's vast content library for $6.99 a month. Popular content includes many movies from the Marvel saga, all Disney-original animated movies, all seasons of the Simpsons, and so much more. Researchers believe that in 2020, there will be more streaming services created, including the planned launch of HBO Max and NBC's Universal's Peacock Platform.
With so much content available on so many platforms, it is vital that the customer discovers and finds new content, which is definitely an essential aspect of the platform's success.
The question many people are asking themselves - will it really be worth it to sift through the vast amount of content available on these streaming devices?
