One of my favorite days of the year is Black Friday. I get all of my holiday shopping done and I treat myself to some things on my own wish list. I picked out the top few stores that traditionally hold the best deals of the season.

1. Best Buy

The most popular items to pick up on Black Friday are always technology products. Best Buy is the place to go to get competitive deals on TV's, Speakers, Cameras, etc. They also have doorbuster deals on smaller items that make great stocking stuffers such as video games, phone cases, and other accessories. Best Buy's doors open on Thanksgiving at 5 pm.

2. Macy's

Macy's is a one-stop shop for all your family needs. On top of having some of the most competitive deals on the market, Macy's carries both Men and Women's apparel, home decor and appliances, along with all things beauty. Between luxury brands and cheaper alternatives, there is nothing more you could want in this huge department store. Macy's Doorbusters start at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

3. Ulta

Known for their most loved rewards program, Ulta has rivaled Sephora for a long time. Recently, Ulta has improved their already competitive loyalty program and they have welcome Kylie Cosmetics by Kylie Jenner to EVERY store in the United States. Ulta has leaked a few Black Friday Previews and they are featuring popular brands including Anastasia Beverly Hills, Morphe, IT Cosmetics, and Becca. Visit Ulta in-store starting Thanksgiving at 6 pm.

4. Target

Target's 47 page Black Friday ad has a lot of surprises. Target claims to be promising gift cards upon purchasing select smartphones from both Samsung and Apple. Game Consoles have minimum savings of $100 along with bundle video game deals. Target is always a front-runner in the Black Friday retail competition and this year is no exception. Target will open its doors at 5 pm on Thanksgiving.

5. Amazon

Last but certainly not least, Amazon is known to have the best deals any day of the year. Since Amazon has limited physical stores in the U.S, they host multiple days a year with spectacular sales. Aside from Prime Day, Amazon pays close attention to also provide events for their customers on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Check in with Amazon's "Deals of the Day," throughout the holiday week for the best savings they have to offer.

Happy Shopping!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
