Life is way too short, so why spend it doing things that won't impact it?
Video games would be a prime example. Yes, they are exciting for rainy or sick days, but why spend endless hours staring at a screen. Go be with friends in-person and interact face-to-face. Make meaningful connections and unforgettable moments TOGETHER.
I've noticed lots of young girls start dressing like high school seniors and worrying about their posts on social media. You will have plenty of time to do that later. You don't have to stress over these things now. Now is the time to discover more about yourself. Have awesome sleepovers with your besties, take embarrassing selfies to cringe at later, and be unapologetically you. Those memories will bond you forever. It's a huge part of growing up- maturing and growing.
Embarrassing moments or pictures will turn into happy memories and times to smile upon. Don't try to sweep them under a rug. Embrace them. Everyone has some cringey moments, but that makes us who we are.
Go on car rides with friends, music blaring, and sing at the top of your lungs. Make funny videos, try to bake something, or play games while you're at the pool, not just tan.
You will have your whole life to work and stress over finances, so if you have the chance to be a kid now, TAKE IT. Don't stress about drama and adult things while you're young. JUST LIVE!
One of my favorite quotes at the moment was posted on Twitter by Denzel Washington: "If you had $86,400 and someone stole $60, would you throw away $86,340 for revenge? Or move on and live? Each of us have 86,400 seconds every day. DON'T let someone's negative 60 seconds ruin the remaining 86,340."
Don't dwell on a few bad things. Instead, create better memories that outweigh the bad.
Have fun, do something questionable, dye your hair or even shave your head, and try something you've always been scared to do. Life only happens once and it will be over in the blink of an eye, unless you choose to seize every moment.
