I'd rather have some character anyways.

Growing up, I learned to be nice to everybody. As long as you respect and are kind to all people, they should give you the same courtesies. However, one thing my kindergarten teacher didn't warn me about was how judgmental my fellow peers can be.

I'd like to consider myself a very friendly person. I'm always open to meeting new people and making new friends. However, it always seems that every time other people see that we are different, they judge me and my decisions.

It always seems like other people criticize me for voicing my opinions when they're different than their own.

They act like my choices aren't as good as theirs because I don't agree with them.

Well, NEWS FLASH:

Having different friends is good!

Not liking the same food is good.

Not liking to do the same things is good!

Being different is good.

We are all unique in our own ways and having different opinions than the person next to you is not only normal, but it adds much-needed diversity. Not agreeing with people all the time is life. Don't make other people feel bad about themselves because of different views that they are rightfully allowed to have.

Most importantly, don't judge people! You don't know their history, background, or past experiences until you take the time to get to know them.

No one likes to feel like they aren't accepted or are being ridiculed for believing in what they want and making their own choices. The easiest solution is to respect everyone, and they will respect you.

Being different is amazing. So stop making me think otherwise.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
