I am not black. I am not a minority. I am not Islamic. I have no religious affiliation. I have never attacked someone, or been attacked. I have never been put in a situation where my life was in danger because someone hated me, and the group I stood for, enough to want to end my life. I may not be a victim, but the hatred has to stop.
Everyday I watch the news and I don't know whether I want to cry or scream. I am sad. I am angry. No, I am furious. Cops are being attacked for doing their job. Members of the black community feel attacked, and have been attacked. American's are afraid to speak their minds, because anything they say can and will be used against them. ISIS is killing innocent civilians because they are filled with blind hatred. The hatred has to stop.
People are killing others because they cannot put aside their differences. We now live in a world filled with terror and outrage, and no one feels safe to speak their mind. Everyday I watch as the body count multiplies and nothing is gained but blood. The hatred has to stop.
Look at us: We are all people. We all breath, we all bleed, and we all cry. Our skin may look different, but all skin bruises. Our cultures may be different, but culture is an adaptation to your surroundings. Our beliefs may be different, but you best believe we all have a right to believe whatever we want. We are not all the same, but we are all people, and the hatred has to stop.
We have become so focused on hating each other for our differences that we have forgotten to see each other as people. We have become so spiteful towards one another for what is happening in the world that we have forgotten that not everyone fits the stereotype. We don't all have to get along, but the hatred has to stop.
I am not a victim, but no one should be. Someday I will die, but no one should die because of hatred. I am sick and tired of hearing about all of this cruelty and bloodshed. What is it accomplishing? These people are being murdered out of hatred of an idea. These people are dying for something they may not even be a part of. These people are people, too. The problem is solved when we all stop letting our differences divide us, and accept that the hatred needs to stop.
