I'm not really sure why this is even a discussion anymore, to be quite honest.
Summer is such a controversial time when it comes to women's appearances. It's usually pretty hot out and a lot of women will choose to wear crop tops, shorts, sundresses, tank tops, and even swimsuits.
Shocking, I know.
However, your opinions do not change the fact that it's 90 degrees outside with 100% humidity and there's not a single cloud in the sky. I can't feel sorry if you're offended by how short a girl's shorts are.
It does happen where a woman does not have the legs of a Victoria's Secret model and it is, in fact, possible for her to still be comfortable wearing short shorts. Most women don't have a toned stomach like the Instagram models selling detox teas, but most women still might want to wear a crop top.
Maybe you don't think it's flattering, but if she does, that's all that matters.
Obviously, everyone has different views on swimsuits, I get that and I've seen it plastered all over social media. What I don't get is why anyone feels so entitled that they could tell a woman what kind of swimsuit to wear. I
t does not matter if you are 200 pounds and chose to wear a bikini or 100 pounds and chose to wear a one piece. Do you, girl. Here's the killer for all you haters out there - we're going to post whatever we want on Instagram.
There, I said it.
So, here's the deal, you can't pretend to be alright with women wear things in public and not be alright with it being posted on social media. I promise you my boyfriend does not love me any less because I go to the beach in a bikini. That girl with the skimpy shorts on your newsfeed, I'm sure her boyfriend's mother loves her to death. We aren't loved because of what we wear, we are loved because of the people we are inside.
At the end of the day if you find yourself uncomfortable with what a girl posts online, you can unfollow her and you can block her, but you most definitely cannot tell her what to do.
