Stop Judging People Based On How They Look

Slut shaming needs to stop.

We all do it. We see a girl walking down the street in shorts and a crop top and automatically try and figure out her life. We can't. So we label her as a "whore" or a "slut" and carry on.

Well, it needs to stop.

Just because a girl is showing a little bit of skin does not give you the right to label her and think that you know about her life.

Maybe it's hot out or maybe she is confident in her own skin. That should not be a crime.

Rape culture plays such a big part in this. Stop asking them "Well what were you wearing?" as if wearing a certain shirt justifies rape. Just because a girl is showing a little bit of skin does not mean she is asking for it. She is not asking to be violated. She is not asking to be judged. She is asking to be accepted.

This goes for guys as well. What they wear somehow determines their sexuality to strangers.

Just because a guy likes to look nice and not wear all black everyday, does not automatically mean that he is gay. it could mean something as simple as he wants to look nice.

I do not know how many times I have heard from parents that a girl is a slut just because her stomach shows a little.

Parents; stop feeding into this culture and set an example for your kids. If your daughter wants to wear a "scandalous" shirt every now and then, do not slut shame her because then that makes it okay for others to slut shame her. If your son wants to look nice and try a new store, do not question his sexuality because then others will think that they have the right to do so.

Judging others simply based off of what you see them wear is absolutely absurd and this constant ridicule from society needs to stop.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
