I think I can speak for every true "Friends" fan when I say that we all would love a "Friends" reboot so that we could continue the story and see how Emma, the twins, and Joey have all grown up. But until an official announcement comes from NBC that says there will be in fact a "Friends" reboot, all the social media posts about it need to stop.
I can guarantee you that if you have a Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or VSCO account you have seen a picture teasing a 2018 reboot. If you are a fan of the show you immediately click on the link reading the story that claims filming has already begun and season one of the reboot is ready to hit televisions.
People like me take that and run with it getting our hopes up and dreaming of the joy that I would feel sitting in my living room watching Friends with some take out and my friends on a Saturday night.
While the idea seems logical due to the influx of reboots of popular 90s shows like "Will and Grace" as well as "Full House." But that joy only lasts a few moments as I quickly run to google to check if this is in fact true. To my despair it is the same result I've gotten the other hundred times, "NBC announces they will not do a reboot" or something that says only half of the original cast is good for doing something like this, the other half is either unreachable or just doesn't want to.
So I make a simple but much-needed request, even if Jennifer Aniston just went on the record of saying she would love to have a "Golden Girls" style reboot. Do not, please, do not post any more of those dreaded articles or photos that say there's a reboot in the works. Instead share funny Friends moments, bloopers, or cute photo collages to warm a die-hard Friends fan's heart.
