Stop looking in the mirror so much.
Stop it.
An article from a makeup distributor, Birchbox, says that 78% of women look in the mirror for about 55 minutes per day. I'm not saying women don't have a good reason to look in the mirror. I know how long makeup takes. You want your makeup to look fierce, and you want to make sure your hair isn't funky. Trust me, I get it.
That's not the mirror time that I'm talking about. Stop scrutinizing. Stop staring at yourself and hyper-focusing on your imperfections. Not only does that not make them go away, it also makes you feel worse about them.
I fully understand wanting to be the best version of yourself. Do you want to exercise and have a balanced diet? Go right ahead. I'm not saying you shouldn't strive to be the best "you" that you can be. In fact, I would highly encourage you to do so in all aspects of your life (not just physical), but staring at wrinkles and acne and scars and stretch marks doesn't help anyone, especially not you. It stains your self image, subsequently tearing down your confidence and your ability to function as an individual.
I could tell you that every woman is a shimmering flower of physical perfection, but I would by lying. None of us are perfect. Even supermodels will grow older and have grey hair. None of that matters, though, in the grand scheme of things.
Psalm 139:14 says, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Every person on this Earth is a creation of God the Father. We are crafted by Him, made in his image, molded by his hands. Every day, we should wake up and praise God because He made us exactly the way we should be. His works (that's us!) are wonderful, and his word tells us so.
Stop looking in the mirror. You're already perfect.
