We know that men and women are judged by society differently, but it’s rare that an example comes along that highlights a double standard, recently Blake Shelton has been named sexiest man alive and most aren't happy with the choice.
Many have vented on social media that numerous other males should have won the title and that they “messed up” picking Blake and proceed to name other celebrities they deem hotter due to their sculpted abs and chiseled jawlines.
My question is why is this okay?
Why is it okay to tear into this man but when it comes to talking badly about a woman it's a whole issue and how dare we say she's not beautiful or its misogyny.
I'm sorry to say this, but there is far more to sex appeal than physical traits and the ability to break box-office records. You don’t have to be a Hemsworth brother or a channing tatum to make the cut.
Personally, I think that it's great that they went a different route, mainly because NEWS FLASH men have body issues too and for those who aren't happy in their own skin they can admire the fact that a guy with an average build has been nominated “sexy” and that it then makes them more confident with themselves so why take that away from them?.
This is a first for any country singer to win this title and it's even getting blake himself to shake off his own insecurities about his looks. it would be nice for a change if people could just stop hating and being so immature.
If you aren't happy with the choice you shouldn't rip someone else apart to voice your opinion and you shouldn't read about it in the first place if you are just going to pout about who has been nominated.
