Finn Wolfhard is the 14-year-old that plays Richie in the new It movie and Mike in Stranger Things.
In case you missed the first part of that sentence, let me repeat it. Finn is 14 years old.
I could see how you might get confused because so many adult women are talking about how hot he is, but he’s 14. So let’s not talk about his hotness, because it’s weird and gross.
The most recent case of this is 27-year-old model Ali Michael posting a picture of Finn on her Instagram story and saying “Not to be weird but hit me up in four years @finnwolfhardofficial”.
She then tried to backtrack, saying it was a joke, but this isn’t funny.
Finn is a child you told to hit you up when he was legally the age of consent when you would be 31, so it would still be weird.
Just because he’s 14 and has started going through puberty doesn’t mean grown adults should be sexualizing him like this.
It gets worse when people look at what happened only a few weeks before this. Finn fired his agent after he was accused of sexual harassment, and while many people made jokes about how Finn didn’t need to have daughters to realize sexual assault was wrong, no one who made or shared these jokes read the article attached.
Finn’s agent was accused of sexually harassing young boys, children like Finn. This was for his safety and a harsh reminder of the pedophilia that runs through Hollywood.
The problem is that if these things had happened to Millie, the internet would be up in arms. The problem is that people still don’t think these horrible things can happen to men. The problem is that we need to protect young boys the same way we protect young girls.
