What on earth is this thing the world calls "adulting?" I am not a fan. This is a weird time, but it's also super exciting.
I moved into my first apartment this past month with my favorite people in the world and wow what a ride that has been. I'm pretty sure my landlord lied to us about some stuff, but it's cool I have a place to live. It's really close to the train, school and it's right above a bar. Not to say because I'm drinking (no not at all) but it's very "How I Met Your Mother" and I love it.
The most fun has been making it "ours." Decorating my room with posters and pictures everywhere, organizing my dresser and desk space, getting a bed, getting a bed frame. The thing that sucks the most about moving is waiting for all your stuff to be delivered. I slept on a mattress on the floor for like a week. Never underestimate how put-together a bed frame will make your room look. Then finally getting furniture in our living room and the kitchen was so rewarding. Especially when you build your futon on your own, until it breaks…
Yeah, the futon we built ourselves broke. It's fine though, we got a new one that required less assembling because as much as I might say it, we are not adults and building things really requires adult supervision.
This is a really rambly way of me saying that no matter the stress of moving and being on your own, the pieces slowly start to come together and when they do it's incredible and very rewarding.
Now it's time to get to the weird stuff.
So, we got this fish. He's super cool, he's a type of catfish so he basically just is just stuck on the walls or furniture in his tank all the time. Look at how cool looking he is.
So anyway, we called him Sucker because we're not good with names. We love this fish so much, he's so funny and he's so cool to look at. He wiggles when he swims. However, Sucker has anxiety so whenever we invite people over he hides. He only has room in his little fishy heart for his humans.
This might not sound very weird to you yet (or maybe it does and we sound like crazy fish people) but here it is:
Sucker is missing.
This is a serious problem. As I said, we invite a lot of people over from time to time and we believe that someone stole our fish. We looked all over for him in his tank, moved the furniture around and we even looked on the surfaces outside the tank in case he jumped out. We can't find him anywhere.
This isn't cool guys, Sucker is a really nervous fish and he needs his parents. So, if you see an anxious catfish anywhere, please let me know. And to the person that took him, please return him to us. We won't be mad at you, I'm sure you had your reasons for stealing our fish, but we need to know that he is safe. You can come by and visit him whenever you want.
So yeah, adulting is a pretty weird adventure. Who knew that one day I would become probably the first person ever to have a fish go missing.
