The Strawberry Festival has been held since 1948 as a way to showcase the strawberries grown in the area. The annual Strawberry Festival has become one of the most-loved hometown festivals in Oklahoma. The Strawberry Festival attracts over 20,000 visitors each year to the "Strawberry Capital of the World," with games, live music and entertainment, and of course, strawberries and ice cream. The 69th annual festival will also include The Run of the Berries, which is a 5K run, helicopter rides, carnival rides, plenty of food and merchandise vendor booths, Arts and Crafts, and the Strawberry Festival Rodeo held Friday and Saturday evenings at the rodeo grounds.
The Strawberry Festival features the annual parade. The parade is made up of floats, marching bands from local and surrounding schools, horses and more. The parade will be immediately followed by the crowning of this year's Strawberry Queen: Emily Christie. Don't be quick to leave though, keep close by for a strawberry auction, midway games, arts and crafts, vendor booths and a wide variety of fair food that fill Main Street.
Make time during the festivities for the Strawberry Festival Car Show on Saturday as well. From 9am to 2pm, the street will be full of classic cars and trucks. For a small entry fee, you can participate in the contest, or of course, you can just sit back and enjoy the show. There will be prizes for top car, top truck, top 50 vehicles, best pedal vehicle, and an overall best in show.
Recognized as a nationally-celebrated event, Stilwell's Strawberry Festival prides itself on family-friendly entertainment for all ages. Celebrate the annual strawberry harvest and small-town pride with live gospel and country music on the main entertainment stage, a strawberry recipe and baked goods contest and plenty of fresh, ripe strawberries.
