Stevenson University is a new college, in a sense. It was first established as Villa Julie College. But through lots of re-branding and expansion, we are now known as the great Stevenson University. We went from just having the same campus on Greenspring to now having three different campuses, and now accept both male and female students.
I love Stevenson because when I came there I was a confused girl straight out of high school. I had no idea what I wanted in life or who I really was. So I did the normal thing: I joined a zillion clubs and tried to find where I fit in. I did at Active Minds club. I was able to accept who I was and find people who could help me. I found someone who would be a great help to me: my friend Chris, who helped me deal with my depression and anxiety. He helped me understand it and feel at home and not judged. I found a home within a home.
At most colleges, you have traditions that you follow and learn. Here at Stevenson, we have old traditions and make new ones to keep the Stevenson experience fresh and new. I also have tried new things since I started. I had experimented with different hair colors and styles, I have tried new things that challenge me, and also found my style. There is nothing fun in staying the same when the world is constantly changing.
I learned who I am here and I know I would not have if I was anywhere else. I made the right decision for myself.
