I have been a fan of "Family Feud" for a long time. Who doesn't love playing along with the families and seeing if you can get the answers right? And let's be real, it's really satisfying when you get an answer right that the families couldn't. Although I have been an avid watcher of the game show, it wasn't until Steve Harvey came along would I find myself actually laughing out loud at the way he makes fun of people. Sometimes I hear people say an answer and I think to myself, "wow, that was stupid." But when you see Steve Harvey give that face, the one where he is basically judging you for everything that you are, that's when you know. He is hilarious and adds so much more personality to the show. In case you haven't seen him in all his glory, here are some of my favorite examples of his hosting ability.
1. He tells it like it is.
If you have a bad answer, he is going to let you know you have a bad answer. He is going to stop the show for a minute or two and scrutinize you from top to bottom. It's just part of his charm.
2. The look.
You know the look. It goes along with number one. You say an answer, he knows it's not up there, you are getting the look. End of story.
3. He always mimics the way people say "$20,000."
If you have ever watched Family Feud, you know how the fast money round works. Before the start of the round, Steve Harvey gives this little spiel about all the rules and what the player has to do. Then he always ends by asking "and if you and (other player) can get 200 points, tell me what you are going to win." This is when the player screams "$20,000." This doesn't pass without Mr. Harvey having some fun before starting the round, however.
4. You always know when he is about to tell a joke.
There is this half a second where he stops and lets out a little "wheeze laugh" before he gathers himself to create a scenario concerning whatever has been said.
5. He is not afraid to break the rules.
Steve Harvey is the only host I have ever seen stop a fast money round in order to make fun of someone.
6. He develops a relationship with almost every contestant.
He has his own way of speaking to each contestant based on what they have said, what they look like or even what they sound like.
7. He is not worried about what people think.
8. He hits people with his cards when he thinks they did well in fast money.
9. He talks to the audience sometimes.
When he really wants to make a point, you can bet he will walk to the edge of the stage and speak directly to the audience. It helps drive his point home. You can even see him making a motivational speech sometimes before a commercial break.
10. You can hear him scream when he hears some of the answers.
11. He is multi-talented and isn't afraid to show it.
So for all of you "Family Feud" lovers out there, sit down and watch some Steve Harvey. It is sure to brighten your day.
